Local Contract We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional medical administrative support and assisting healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality patient care. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, as well as experience in various medical specialties including internal medicine, dermatology, and emergency medicine. Duties Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and handling billing inquiries. Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures by preparing instruments and ensuring patient comfort. Conduct preliminary patient assessments including taking vital signs and documenting medical histories. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to safety protocols. Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care instructions. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. Stay updated on medical-surgical procedures and best practices in the field. Experience Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program is required. Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred, with exposure to internal medicine, dermatology, or emergency medicine being advantageous. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology is essential for effective communication within the healthcare team. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems is a plus. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Experience with Cerner a nice to have, but will accept similar technologies including Epic Work Schedule: Guaranteed at 40hrs/wk - Must be available to work three 12-hour shifts and one 4-hour shift per week. Every third week, there is a requirement of two 12-hour shifts (weekday), one 4-hour shift (weekday), and a weekend shift (both Saturday and Sunday) from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Must be available to work minor holidays (10:00 am to 4:00 pm). “We are an equal opportunity employer.
