Job Description: Traveling Drywall Finisher

Our expertise spans a wide range of trades, including selective demolition, metal stud framing, drywall, acoustical ceilings, and high-end finishes.
Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Traveling Drywall Finisher to join our team. The ideal candidate is an expert in all aspects of commercial drywall finishing with a strong commitment to quality and efficiency. As a Traveling Drywall Finisher, you will be responsible for producing high-level finishes (Level 4 and Level 5) on our project sites, ensuring all surfaces are perfectly smooth and ready for paint. This position requires extensive travel to project sites across the US on a rotational basis.
Key Responsibilities:
Drywall Finishing: Expertly apply joint compound, tape joints and corners, and finish seams to create a flawless surface. Perform multiple coats and sanding as required to achieve specified finish levels.
Surface Preparation: Prepare drywall surfaces for painting by patching cracks, holes, and other imperfections. Ensure walls and ceilings are smooth, seamless, and meet project quality standards.
Skim Coating: Perform skim coating on walls and ceilings to repair extensive damage or create a uniform, high-end finish.
Detail Work: Meticulously finish around outlets, windows, doors, and other architectural features to ensure clean lines and a professional appearance.
Team Collaboration: Work effectively with the Site Supervisor, painters, and other crew members to ensure tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
Quality Control: Uphold Trimerge’s standards for excellence by performing self-inspections of your work to ensure a high-quality, defect-free finish.
Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all company and OSHA safety protocols, including proper use of PPE and dust control measures, to maintain a safe work environment.
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in commercial drywall finishing.
Demonstrated expertise in achieving Level 4 and Level 5 finishes is mandatory.
Proficiency with both hand tools (hawks, trowels, knives) and automatic taping tools (bazookas, boxes) is highly preferred.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications to understand finishing requirements.
Strong understanding of job site safety requirements and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
Excellent attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
Professional demeanor and the ability to work independently as part of a larger team.
Willingness and ability to travel extensively for extended periods is a firm requirement of this position.
Must possess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation.
OSHA 10 certification is a plus.
What We Offer:
Competitive Pay: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour, based on experience.
Per Diem: $50 per day to cover expenses while traveling.
Lodging: Company-provided lodging at all project locations.
Hours: Consistent work schedule of 40-50 hours per week, with opportunities for additional overtime.
