Final Inspector - Radiographic 2nd Shift

Primary Function:
Process castings through radiographic inspection in compliance with company and customer
specifications.
Tools and Equipment: X-ray machines, x-ray film processors, densitometer, blueprints, etc.
Material: Aluminum, copper and brass castings, inspection stamps, x-ray film, cassettes, x-ray filn developer.
Direction of Others: None
Working Procedure: With guidance and supervision from the Department Supervisor, the Quality Assurance staff, and the Final Inspector A , the Final Inspector - Radiographic THE FOLLOWING ARE THE USUAL MAJOR JOB DUTIES BUT THIS JOB DESCRIPTION DOES NOT PRECLUDE THE PERFORMANCE OF OTHER DUTIES BY THE INCUMBENT. 1 Shall adhere to all safety requirements as posted on the job safety card. 2 Shall consistently follow all applicable work instructions. 3 Shall receive daily work assignments from the department supervisor or lead person. 4 Shall process castings through radiographic inspection, processing and reading, as prescribed in the instructions in the Non Destructive Test folders. 5 Shall accept or reject casting(s), or lots, based on results of the inspection techniques used. 6 Shall faithfully apply all applicable specifications, and report any apparent deviations to the Quality Assurance Manager. 7 Shall attend and successfully complete hazardous material / waste handling classes. 8 Shall maintain all necessary inspection records and files, in addition to a variety of logs where accuracy is paramount. 9 Shall maintain the work area in a clean and orderly condition, and keep noise level to a minimum. 10 Shall safeguard the use of the stamp(s) issued to them, as outlined in the Final Inspection instructions. 11 Must achieve and maintain Level 1 RT certification in radiographic inspection within ninety days of start date. 12 Shall attend and successfully complete lockout / tagout training. 13 Shall perform other duties as assigned.
Work Environment: A clean working environment, free of most contaminants, with a minimum amount of noise.
Special Skills Required: Must have 20 / 25 near vision (correctable). Must be able to distinguish colors. Must have sufficient strength and manual dexterity to perform the physical demands of the job.
