Inventory/Purchasing Coordinator

Reviews electronic requisitions; creates purchase orders for stock inventory and par level low unit of measure department inventories at the most favorable price consistent with quality, quantity, and specification requirements; follows up with PO confirmation; expedites P(O backorders; maintains the electronic perpetual inventory process; adds and deletes items from inventory; keeps inventory records current and accurate; coordinates physical inventory twice each year; conducts frequent inventory cycle counts; prepares periodic and month end reports; prepares bid analysis on inventoried items and negotiates pricing with vendors; reviews slow moving items for possible deletions from inventory.
Purchases approved supplies and equipment for hospital. Maintains purchase and service and maintenance agreements. Obtains vendor proposals and performs cost comparisons. Assists other departments with purchasing needs. Performs data entry and routine clerical duties. Manages inventory. Answers telephone and routes call to appropriate person. Receives supplies. Inventories supplies. Distributes supplies. Stocks shelves. Enters patient charges.
High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Additional higher education course a plus. Academic or practical experience with computerized inventory/distribution systems is preferred.
Oral and written skills, basic arithmetic skills, basic computer skills. Prefer 1-2 years of progressive experience in supply chain or purchasing environment.
