Our large pharmaceutical client in Spring House, PA is seeking a Laboratory Automation Scientist to join their growing team. The team they will be joining is focused on transitioning functional assays into automated workflows. This role was previously supported by another team and now requires a dedicated hire to lead automation efforts internally. Key responsibilities include:
Automate cell-based and biochemical assays (e.g., flow cytometry, T-cell redirection, ADCP, ELISA).
Configure and optimize Biomek i7 liquid handling systems (3 units currently in build phase with incubators, gripper arms, and InVision modules).
Develop, script, and refine automation protocols to improve throughput and reproducibility.
Collaborate cross-functionally to understand assay requirements and align instrumentation accordingly.
Support ongoing instrument performance and troubleshooting post-deployment.
Qualifications:
Hands-on experience with Biomek instrumentation preferred; familiarity with Tecan or Hamilton systems also acceptable.
Proficiency in scripting for liquid handlers and GUI-based protocol development.
Experience with low-to-medium throughput configurations and assay optimization.
Ability to evaluate and improve existing protocols and automation strategies.
Background in biology or related life sciences field with strong understanding of assay workflows.
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a related field of study
Salary:
$85,000-$115,000 (flexible based on experience) Hours:
Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm Hiring Method:
Multiyear contract - After 1 year on contract, the individual will have the opportunity to apply for a permanent role or have their contract renewed for another year PTO : 10 PTO days, 6 paid sick days annually & paid Holidays Benefits:
