Job Overview The Senior Credit Underwriting Officer will play a crucial role in Renasant Bank's Commercial Lending Unit, providing expert commercial credit and financial analysis support to enhance credit risk management efforts. Responsibilities Underwrite and analyze complex commercial lending credits, focusing on high-exposure relationships. Specialize in areas such as Commercial Real Estate (CRE), Residential Construction Lending, Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPS), and other types of lending. Gather and assess necessary financial information from borrowers and guarantors, ensuring completeness and accuracy. Conduct thorough reviews of credit, collateral, and financial data. Prepare financial models, global cash flows, and detailed credit analysis, culminating in a comprehensive Credit Memo. Oversee financial covenant monitoring and provide insightful feedback to Relationship Managers and Credit Officers regarding borrower creditworthiness and loan structures. Manage workflow efficiently, ensuring high-quality outputs and turnaround times. Take full ownership of assigned credit evaluations with minimal supervision. Utilize nCino for organizing loan documentation and ensuring compliance with Renasant Bank's policies. Engage directly with clients to understand their needs, participating in client calls alongside Relationship Managers. Identify and leverage opportunities for additional business and cross-selling bank products. Consistently apply all bank policies and procedures while performing duties. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma required; Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Economics preferred, or equivalent experience. At least 5 years of commercial loan underwriting experience or 10 years in commercial lending. Expertise in underwriting commercial construction, C&I, and CRE loans. Ability to analyze a variety of financial documents, including tax returns and financial statements. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines effectively. Flexible, proactive mindset, committed to delivering exceptional service. Physical Demands The role requires the ability to stand or sit for extended periods, as well as occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
