Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design, development, and maintenance of efficient dbt models, emphasizing modularity and performance.
Utilize Kimball-style dimensional modeling techniques to structure data optimally for reporting and analysis.
Conduct data exploration, analysis, and validation to ensure the reliability of dbt models.
Set up and manage automated dbt tests to maintain high standards of data quality, including checks for anomalies and duplicates.
Investigate and resolve data anomalies and pipeline errors while collaborating with relevant teams.
Work effectively with data analysts to create dependable reporting models that align with business objectives.
Guarantee the availability and consistency of data for analytics teams utilizing Tableau, PowerBI, Amplitude, Google Analytics, and more.
Engage in code and PR reviews to uphold the quality of dbt models and code for data pipelines.
Monitor and optimize data pipeline performance using AWS tools like Lambda, SQS, Athena, EC2, and Kinesis.
Enforce data governance policies to ensure data integrity and compliance with security standards.
Qualifications:
4+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or a similar role.
Degree in a related field such as Computer Science, Statistics, or Data Science; an advanced degree is preferred.
Proven experience with dbt for building and managing data models and transformations.
Strong understanding of data quality, validation, and governance best practices.
Experience collaborating with data analysts on actionable reporting models.
Proficiency with Snowflake and expertise in building scalable data warehouses.
Expertise in Kimball-style dimensional modeling.
Strong SQL skills for querying, automation, and validation.
Proficient in Python for scripting and automation tasks.
Familiarity with AWS tools and cloud-based data pipelines.
Knowledge of event and web analytics data tools such as Amplitude and Google Analytics.
Experience with real-time data streams and troubleshooting pipeline issues.
Must be located near Atlanta, GA, with the ability to come onsite 2-3 times a week to our Midtown office.
Compensation:
The compensation package includes a base salary range of $99,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year, which may vary based on the candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities.
