Job Summary and Responsibilities JOB SUMMARY / PURPOSE Educates and trains patient escort staff to ensure competency and/or dispatching for the department; must ensure thatequipment is operational, safe and functioning according to hospital standards; will maintain quality assurance monitorsto evaluate the quality of service provided to patients, communicate effectively with management and take on aleadership role. ESSENTIAL KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Become familiar and utilize the Bed Central system and back‐up process for coordinating patient transports anddischarges.
Must be able to assist and transport patients during staff shortages.
Assign trips to patient escort pagers through Bed Central.
Answer a busy phone while maintaining an error tracking log.
Maintain a steady flow of communication between the Transportation staff, Supervisors, Unit Secretaries and NurseManagers.
Report any conflicts immediately to the supervisor/manager.
Performs other duties when requested.
Job Requirements Required Licensure and Certifications
High School Diploma/GED
BLS- AHA
Required Minimum Skills, Abilities and Training
Good written/oral communication skills
