Quality Control Inspector

Job Description

This position requires performing inspection and testing tasks to ensure that manufactured items meet company and industry quality standards as well as contract specifications when required. The role demands a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Inspect and measure materials, products, and work for conformance to specifications and standards throughout the manufacturing cycle.

Use standard measuring tools such as rulers, calipers, and force gauges accurately.

Interpret blueprints, data, and other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, and required measuring instruments.

Record inspection data and quantities inspected on required inspection reports.

Collect and file inspection and test records in accordance with established record maintenance procedures.

Notify supervisors and other personnel of production quality problems and assist in identifying and correcting these problems.

Discuss inspection results with those responsible for products and recommend necessary corrective actions.

Complete all required record-keeping, including time sheets and traceability forms.

Understand part numbers and revision levels.

Inspect customer repairs as needed.

Assist with the training of new inspectors as needed.

Perform other related duties as required or assigned.

Follow company rules and procedures.

Essential Skills

1 to 2 years of quality inspection experience in manufacturing.

Functionally literate, able to read and write English documents.

Perform basic computations (add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals).

Accurately use standard measuring tools.

Read and interpret manufacturing drawings and work specification sheets.

Detail-oriented and able to maintain high accuracy standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with upholstery, sewing machine, apparel, upholstering, industrial sewing, and sewing.

ITAR compliance.

Work Environment

The work environment is a manufacturing shop floor that is both heated and air-conditioned. Noise levels are usually moderate due to sewing machines and traffic. The role requires frequent walking and may involve sitting at a sewing machine. Lifting and/or pulling moderate to heavy items may be required. While fluency in English is not mandatory, the ability to understand basic written instructions is necessary, and bilingual employees are available to assist.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of SANTA ANA, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.45 - $20.64/hr.
