MRI Technologies is seeking a dedicated
Quality Assurance Inspector
to support construction projects at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. In this role, you will be on the front lines ensuring that roofing and facility construction projects meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance. Working closely with contractors, vendors, and project managers, you'll help safeguard mission-critical infrastructure by verifying that every detail aligns with project specifications and client requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced inspector who thrives in the field, enjoys problem-solving, and takes pride in delivering work that supports NASA's operational excellence. This project may require shift work and/or overtime and should last 18-24 months.

YOUR DAY AS A QUALITY ASSURANCE INSPECTOR
As a
Quality Assurance Inspector , your day begins at the project site-reviewing contractor activities to confirm they're being carried out in accordance with project plans, specifications, and quality standards. You'll perform inspections of roofing and construction work, carefully documenting your findings and reporting results to the Quality Manager.
You'll engage with subcontractors and vendors, ensuring the materials and services they provide meet strict project and client requirements. Some days may involve climbing to inspect roof systems, while others focus on completing detailed inspection reports or participating in quality-related training to keep your skills sharp.
Throughout the project, you'll serve as both a guardian of quality and a partner to the construction team, balancing oversight with collaboration to achieve safe, compliant, and reliable results. By the end of the day, you'll know your efforts directly contributed to maintaining the integrity of facilities that support NASA's people and programs. Our ideal candidate conducts business in an ethical manner and demonstrates a commitment to quality and excellence.
Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
High School diploma required with some higher education
Minimum 5 years of experience in QC inspection of construction projects is required. (Roofing experience is desired)
Ability to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities and groups of people who need to cooperate to achieve maximum efficiency
Good oral and written skills
Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather conditions
Good computer skills with Microsoft Office required (Microsoft Project desired)
Commercial Building Inspector Certification
Experience with Government projects and Construction of Facilities projects is a plus
Bachelor's degree is a plus
Job-site Specific Requirements:
Must have, and maintain, a valid Texas Driver's License
Must be able to obtain, and maintain, access to the job site from NASA Security/Badging
Must complete all required safety and awareness training
Must meet all requirements of the Johnson Space Center/Amentum Fall Protection Program
Must be able to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship per federal government contractual requirements.
