The incumbent in this position is responsible for preparing documents relating to the adjudication of issues leading to the suspension, revocation or denial of certificates or other disciplinary actions against certified educators. The incumbent in this position is responsible for maintaining confidentiality within the department. The incumbent in this position is also responsible for following Florida Statutes. The Florida Department of Education (FDOE) has an open position that is responsible for executing the following functions: Assists the investigator with scheduling, notifying, and/or conducting the informal conference. Assists with the planning of travel and site visits for investigations conducted pursuant to 1012.796, F.S. Compiles backup materials, legal documents and investigators work product for review and approval. Acquires and compiles documents to assist with a potential or pending investigation. Acquires and compiles all documents related to administrative actions by other agencies and draft reports. Assists with the preparation of documents associated with the conclusion of a case, including processing of paperwork and all required notices and final storage and retention of the information. Conduct DHSMV and CCIS checks. Conduct telephone interviews to assist with investigations. Knows, understands, interprets and applies pertinent statutes and rules related to the investigative process. Maintain all documents in an accurate manner, and documents and maintain confidential records. Generates and distributes communications to educators, administrators or district staff and others. Prepares and processes technical documents, paperwork and forms. Opens case files, processes all related correspondence and ensures all notices are made. Prepares and delivers letters, correspondence and notifications. Closes and purges case files. Research information stored in the Professional Practices Services Microfiche System. Maintains a central filing system for investigative reports. Assists with the process of docket entries into the case management system. Ensures case documents are properly and accurately recorded. Assists with the preparation of public records requests. Receives and documents communications from the Department of Children and Families. Answers office telephones, prepares mail outs and copies documents. Performs other duties as assigned. The ideal incumbent must be productive under tight timeframes, balance multiple and competing priorities, and maintain goal-directed behavior and performance sometimes under stressful conditions. The incumbent must interact courteously with others. The performance and behavior of all employees must demonstrate consideration of the workload concerns of others and must not negatively affect productivity and morale of unity. Annual Leave - All full-time Career Service employees filling established positions earn annual leave in varying increments dependent upon years of creditable service. Employees with up to 5 years of creditable service earn 8.667 hours per month, with 5 to 10 years earn 10.833 hours per month and those with over 10 years of service earn 13 hours per month. Employees in Senior Management Service and Selected Exempt Service positions are credited with 176 hours of annual leave upon appointment. In subsequent years, the annual allotment is credited on the anniversary date of the initial appointment. Sick Leave - Career Service employees earn 8.667 hours of sick leave credits per month.
