As a Shortage Control Associate, your role is essential in enhancing store security and enriching the overall shopping experience for our customers. By showcasing your command presence, understanding of theft trends, and a positive impression of control, your vigilance at store entrances, exits, and high-risk areas will help mitigate theft and create a safe and enjoyable shopping atmosphere. You will engage with customers and associates in line with our core company values by offering a confident, friendly, and energetic greeting with eye contact and a smile during every interaction. Your discipline, awareness of your surroundings, and dedication to safety standards will be crucial as you monitor the store entrance throughout your shift, minimizing opportunities for theft and dishonest activities. Your confidence, positive demeanor, and expertise in shortage reduction strategies will foster trust and respect with customers and team members alike. Key Responsibilities: Maintain professional appearance and adherence to dress standards. Stay vigilant and aware of your surroundings at the front of the store. Greet every customer entering or exiting with warmth and enthusiasm, reinforcing a sense of security. Contribute to a secure environment and lower chances of theft. Knowledge & Communication: Master knowledge of key shortage areas and support initiatives aimed at theft reduction. Communicate theft prevention strategies effectively during store rallies, in collaboration with the Manager on Duty. Conduct bag and package checks for store and corporate associates to uphold safety standards. Understand your role in maintaining a secure store environment. Support & Guidance: Assist in training associates on shortage reduction programs and practices. Model safety as a top priority and address unsafe practices promptly. Qualifications: 1+ years of experience in customer service, retail, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or related fields is preferred. Ability to stand and walk for long periods while monitoring the store environment visually. Strong commitment to confidentiality is required. Aptitude for analyzing and interpreting business trends. Exhibit a positive demeanor, strong posture, and deliver energetic greetings. Ability to function in a fast-paced, high-pressure setting with focused decision-making. Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and coworkers. Strong leadership skills that promote productive business relationships.
