Position Overview: The Quality Inspector ensures that all purchased, in-process, and completed products meet required specifications for configuration, dimensions, aesthetics, contamination, surface finish, packaging/labeling, and material properties. This role is responsible for performing incoming and in-process inspections in accordance with internal quality policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform inspections of incoming materials, in-process items, and finished products to ensure they meet established specifications.
Utilize various measurement tools and equipment to assess product dimensions, tolerances, and quality attributes.
Document inspection results accurately and maintain detailed records for quality reporting and traceability.
Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings to ensure correct measurements and compliance.
Identify and report non-conforming products and participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Collaborate with production and engineering teams to address quality issues and improve manufacturing processes.
Key Skill Requirements:
Hands-on experience with measurement equipment, including calipers, micrometers, dial and digital indicators, optical comparators, ring gauges, pin gauges, video measurement equipment, and thread gauges.
Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings.
Accurate documentation skills with attention to detail.
Knowledge of quality control procedures and inspection standards.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a manufacturing or production inspection role.
Familiarity with ISO or other quality management standards.
Basic knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes.
