LandPaths is a Sonoma County conservation non-profit organization dedicated to connecting people to the land by offering equitable open space access, leading outdoor outings, providing environmental education, and land stewardship through volunteer workdays. LandPaths stewards five nature preserves throughout Sonoma County equaling approximately 2,000 acres.
Interns will work alongside the LandPaths stewardship staff in the field and learn multiple facets of land stewardship and volunteer engagement through direct hands-on experience in LandPaths beautiful preserves throughout the County, including Bohemia Ecological Preserve, the Grove of Old Trees, and Riddell Preserve.
Stewardship activities include forestry for fire and climate resilience, trail building and maintenance, community science and monitoring, including of rare species, and invasive species removal. Interns will learn about LandPaths method of slow stewardship on the preserves, local ecology, the techniques used by the stewardship team to conserve and restore the land, how to use hand and power tools, and how to engage with volunteers and co-lead volunteer stewardship days, all while having a great time in the outdoors!
HOURS: 1-2 eight-hour days per week, occasional weekend hours and at least a three-month commitment required
