A Natera Test Coordinator Phlebotomist plays a vital role in patient care by scheduling appointments, determining the best methods for blood collection, and preparing specimens for laboratory testing. You will also be responsible for reconciling necessary paperwork and ensuring compliance with all regulations.
This is an onsite position at our facility in the greater Chicago, IL area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage both clinical and administrative tasks, such as:
- Communicating with patients regarding blood draw requirements.
- Handling administrative tasks including access to patient information via Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and scheduling.
- Documenting work-from-home hours accurately.
- Track and enter data for each blood draw completed, including any applicable billing information.
- Verify test requisitions against EMR data, addressing any discrepancies promptly.
- Confirm patient identity through ID verification processes.
- Maintain specimen integrity by utilizing aseptic techniques in accordance with departmental protocols.
- Keep meticulous daily logs of specimens collected including date, time, and initials.
- Ensure quality results by adhering to department procedures and documenting findings in quality-control logs.
- Foster a safe workplace by following CAP CLIA standards and complying with all legal regulations.
- Coordinate with field teams to support existing client relationships and provide excellent service.
- Strive for efficiency and completion rates as determined by business objectives.
- Effectively communicate product and program details to the Natera patient community.
- Build and maintain relationships with patients for ongoing testing engagements.
- Handle necessary outbound calls depending on operational needs.
- Resolve complex test orders by liaising with healthcare professionals as needed and ensuring prompt resolution.
- Engage in ongoing learning through training opportunities and professional development.
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience in phlebotomy with a focus on oncology.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Phlebotomy Certification (if mandated by the State).
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to uphold professional standards and regulatory compliance within the healthcare environment.
