Description:

Experience with the Instron Software programs Blue-Hill 3 or Blue-Hill Universal & Tensile/Compression Testing. This position is for the Day Shift work hours from 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, total 8.5 hrs (8.0 hrs & 0.5 hr for lunch). Dependability and punctuality are essential. Candidates must also be willing to work the day shift when the night supervisor is unavailable as required. This ensures adherence to our safety policy, which requires that no one operates equipment alone. Job Summary: Reporting to a supervisor/manager, the Lab Technician 1 brings technical skills and knowledge to support:

Test lab daily activities. Equipment qualification. Test method validation (TMV) development. Lab engineering projects. Performs bench-level engineering tests for design verification (DV), stability, feasibility, and test method developments (TMD). Works under supervision to complete assignments. Supports review of test requests to ensure accurate completion. Supports lab for TMV.

Job Responsibilities:

Executes minimally complex test requests with moderate assistance. Developing on all lab testing. Handles minimally complex problems with moderate supervisor assistance. Works with moderate oversight/supervision to complete minimally complex projects. Supports equipment qualification (IQ, OQ) and TMV development. Supports TMD and Ver/Val teams. Troubleshoots to a solution inconsistency on test needs/requests with requestor. Responsible for maintaining good documentation practice (GDP), good laboratory practices (GLP), and supports compliance with GLP. Supports efforts to create tools for process simplification of testing lab operation.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree and minimum of 0 years of experience in a regulated industry/laboratory setting,

OR Associates in Applied Science (AAS) and minimum of 0 years of experience in a regulated industry/laboratory setting,

OR High School Diploma and minimum of 4 years of experience in a regulated industry/laboratory setting.

Knowledge and Skills:

Proficient communication skills (written/verbal). Well organized. Ability to work in a team. Good understanding of math. Detail oriented. Ability to collect, record, and report data accurately. Developing technical writing skills. Developing root cause analysis techniques. Preferred Skill: Operate and troubleshoot mechanical test equipment in the lab. Preferred skills: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook, TEAMs.
