Eleven Recruiting is searching for a Flight Hardware Inspector for one of our largest aerospace and defense clients in El Monte, CA. This leading manufacturer delivers metallic and composite flight hardware and sub-assemblies for the space, missile, and hypersonic markets, offering unmatched capabilities in precision machining, large-part forming, welding, finishing, composites, and assembly.


In this role, the Flight Hardware Inspector will be responsible for reviewing and performing inspections of product and data, supporting configuration management auditing to AS9100 and internal Quality Management System (QMS) requirements, and ensuring product conformity and safety. The inspector must understand how their role contributes to overall quality and compliance, maintain ethical standards, and actively support workplace safety and product integrity.


Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and apply AS9100 procedures while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform inspection and validation of flight hardware, including preparing required documentation.
  • Participate in Customer Conformity Reviews and assist in audit preparation.
  • Interpret and read engineering drawings and CAD models; support inspection with Bubbled Drawings and Data Pack preparation.
  • Interact with and support customer inspections (Source Inspectors).
  • Review and apply customer quality requirements and internal quality requirements on a job-by-job basis.
  • Support manufacturing teams with inspection and engineering needs.
  • Align with production schedules, including availability for requested overtime.
  • Ensure non-conforming product is not unintentionally delivered to customers.
  • Collaborate closely with Quality and Production teams, supporting the full scope of the QMS.
  • Apply QMS procedures and tools in compliance with AS9100 standards.
  • Understand and communicate the impact of product failure on customer applications.


Education & Experience:

  • 2+ years of college or related technical training preferred.
  • Adequate years of experience in inspection using quality techniques.
  • Hands-on aerospace/defense inspection experience strongly preferred.


Knowledge & Skill Requirements:

  • Highly detail-oriented and organized with excellent communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to interact effectively with customers and internal staff.
  • Ability to communicate directly and assertively while maintaining professionalism.
  • Experience providing training on customer and quality requirement changes.
  • Knowledge of QMS systems, including reporting, recordkeeping, and compliance processes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments, supporting both Quality and Production.
