About the position:
The Accounting Manager oversees the financial operations of Omni Fiber, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic insight. This role is pivotal in maintaining financial health and supporting executive decision-making. This position is based in Mason, Ohio Headquarters.
Key Responsibilities
· Financial Oversight: Manage general ledger, accounts payable, payroll, cash activity and monthly close process in a timely manner; prepare and post general ledger entries on a regular basis.
· Reporting: Prepare monthly, and annual financial statements; analyze financial data and reconcile accounts for accuracy of posted invoices and manual journal activity.
· Compliance: Accurately maintain accounting records; ensure adherence to GAAP, tax laws, and internal policies; assist with audits and tax reporting; review annual 1099 processing.
· Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor the accounts payable team; assign projects and ensure accuracy and compliance; review coding of payables and select invoices to be paid; manage authorization and payment process of accounts payable.
· Coordination: Work with HR to on-board new hires; administer payroll and ensure employees are accurately input in payroll and benefit systems; maintain confidentiality of employee records; record payroll and benefits by department in general ledger.
· Process Improvement: Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures; recommend system enhancements.
· Strategic Support: Assist the finance team in financial planning, forecasting, and risk management; provide recommendations to improve profitability.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university; CPA preferred.
· 5-7 years of accounting experience (preferably payroll and accounts payable) and demonstrated success in a supervisory role.
· Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial regulations, and tax compliance.
· Proficiency in accounting ERP software (Microsoft Business Central preferred) and MS Excel.
· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills; high attention to detail; team player with strong work ethic and ability to work well with others; self-motivated and energetic.
Work Environment & Expectations
Office-based with standard weekday hours; occasional extended hours near fiscal deadlines. Reports to the Controller
