As a Senior Cybersecurity Integrated Architect, you will play a crucial role in shaping the cyber defense strategy within our innovative organization. Your expertise in cybersecurity architecture principles, standards, and design patterns will guide engineering teams in developing secure products and enterprise tools for multi-cloud and on-premises environments. This position empowers you to become an integral part of the product and engineering teams, advising them on best practices for cybersecurity implementation.

You will draw upon your deep knowledge and experience in cybersecurity to collaborate effectively with direct and cross-functional teams across our company. By understanding the unique risk profiles of different business units and products, you will help to mitigate cybersecurity risks and enhance our overall security posture.

This role will report directly to the Director of Integrated Cybersecurity Architecture at Cox Automotive.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Communicate and promote cybersecurity guidelines to engineering and business teams, ensuring their effective adoption.
  • Maintain ongoing collaboration with engineering teams to provide expert advice on architecture decisions and assist with the implementation of cybersecurity controls.
  • Identify and mitigate cybersecurity risks through thorough threat modeling of products and enterprise tools.
  • Offer cybersecurity architecture guidance at both major program and solution levels.
  • Engage with cybersecurity peers to foster a cohesive cybersecurity community, sharing insights and activities relevant to our specific business needs.
  • Work alongside enterprise architecture and engineering teams to assess existing architectures, identify gaps, and recommend security enhancements.
  • Participate in security events and incident response efforts to pinpoint design gaps and propose solutions to prevent future threats.
  • Educate product and enterprise architects, as well as engineering staff, on cybersecurity best practices and standards.
  • Collaborate with legal and security governance, risk, and compliance teams to ensure our cybersecurity architecture supports compliance with relevant regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience; or a master's degree with 4 years of experience; or a Ph.D. with 1 year of experience; or 10 years of professional experience in a related field.
  • At least 4 years focused specifically on cybersecurity.
  • Proven experience in designing, securing, or operating AWS infrastructure and services.
  • Ability to communicate the objectives of cybersecurity policies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong customer service skills, coupled with excellent writing and presentation capabilities.
  • Ability to foster a productive work environment and collaborate closely with our cybersecurity teams.
  • A consultative approach to navigate complex topics with employees, leaders, and senior management.
  • Experience in evaluating risks and recommending appropriate actions based on business impact.
  • Familiarity with contemporary cybersecurity and technology architectures, such as zero trust, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and DevSecOps.
  • Creative problem-solving skills applied to complex cybersecurity challenges while maintaining solid business acumen.
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies and implementing changes in Fortune 1000 companies.
  • Knowledge of applicable cybersecurity frameworks and regulations guiding architectural requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in developing cybersecurity standard methodologies for all layers of hosting and application stacks.
  • Knowledge of IAM, cryptography, secrets management, and security protocols.
  • Experience with application security implementations and associated best practices.
  • Extensive knowledge in technologies such as Python, .NET, Java, and various cloud services.
  • Familiarity with firewalls, web application firewalls, and networking architectures.
  • Experience with AWS Well-Architected Framework.
  • Practical experience in establishing cloud enterprise solutions on platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Strong understanding of cloud containers and serverless platforms like AWS Lambda.
  • Background in critical infrastructure industries such as telecommunications or financial services.
  • Experience with consulting firms or Fortune 500 companies.
  • Relevant cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, CEH, OSCP, or others.

Compensation for this position ranges from $119,600.00 to $199,400.00 per year, based on factors like location and the candidate’s experience. Additional compensation may be available through incentive programs.
