Project Manager / Business Unit Leader – Civil & Materials Testing Nashville, TN We are seeking an experienced Project Manager/Business Unit Leader to drive growth and oversee operations for a well-established civil and geotechnical engineering firm in Nashville, TN. This role offers the opportunity to lead a team, manage diverse projects, and expand civil, transportation, airport, and construction inspection/testing services in the region. Key Responsibilities Lead, manage, and grow the Nashville office, including oversight of field and lab staff (currently 8 CMT professionals). Oversee civil engineering, roadway, CMT (Construction Materials Testing), and geotechnical projects. Manage budgets, schedules, proposals, and project delivery from start to finish. Develop and maintain client relationships to expand business in the Nashville market. Provide technical leadership on ASTM, AASHTO, and Tennessee DOT standards. Ensure quality project execution, compliance, and client satisfaction. Collaborate with leadership and technical experts across other regional offices for support. Qualifications BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (required). Professional Engineer (PE) license (required). 5+ years of experience in civil engineering, transportation, airport projects, and/or materials testing (CMT). Strong knowledge of ASTM, AASHTO, and TDOT requirements. Leadership skills with the ability to manage staff and mentor a growing team. Experience preparing proposals, managing schedules, and delivering projects within budget. Geotechnical or subsurface exploration experience in Tennessee is a plus.
