Position Summary The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for evaluating, planning, and implementing individualized treatment programs for patients with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders. The SLP develops therapy strategies to improve speech, language, voice, fluency, comprehension, and swallowing while working to decrease aspiration risks. This role also provides leadership in guiding the delivery of speech-language pathology and audiology services in compliance with state, federal, and facility standards. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients’ speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing abilities. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve communication, comprehension, and swallowing functions. Apply therapeutic techniques that enhance patients’ ability to understand others and express themselves effectively. Guide, lead, and direct the delivery of speech-language pathology and audiology services in the facility. Document patient progress, treatment interventions, and outcomes in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary care team members to support patient-centered treatment plans. Ensure compliance with HIPAA, local, state, and federal regulations as well as facility policies and procedures. Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapy strategies and carryover techniques to optimize outcomes.
