Job Title: Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor Profession: Counseling Specialty: Staff Augmentation Duration: 13 months Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM Experience: Minimum Years of Experience Required License: Must hold at least one of the following: - Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor (LICDC) - Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) - Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) - Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) - Licensed Social Worker (LSW) - Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor II (LCDC II) - Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor III (LCDC III) Must-Have: - Knowledge of public relations and establishing beneficial business relationships - Familiarity with agency policies and procedures - Proficiency in counseling and interviewing - Understanding of social sciences - Skill in word processing and equipment operation Description: Provides alcohol and drug counseling and other ancillary services to inmates on assigned caseload. Completes intake assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge planning for inmates. Coordinates with other treatment services for individualized treatment planning. Utilizes a coordinated treatment approach. Monitors attendance and participation progress of inmates in substance abuse programs. Reviews case files and termination of program participation. Provides continuing care planning and intervenes in crisis situations. Reviews inmate files for program admission consideration and treatment planning. Contacts appropriate authorities regarding inmate activities. Develops and coordinates substance abuse programming for inmates as assigned. Monitors activities of volunteers and facilitates support/fellowship meetings. Provides technical assistance and training to volunteers involved in the recovery services program. Participates in program quality assurance activities including peer utilization and clinical record reviews. Attends seminars and conferences. Conducts self professionally and in a law-abiding manner at all times. Performs other duties as assigned. Recognizes unusual or threatening conditions and takes appropriate action. Deals with problems involving several variables in a familiar context. Prepares meaningful, concise, and accurate reports. Gathers, collects, and classifies information about data, people, or things. Handles sensitive inquiries from officials and the general public. Develops good rapport with inmates and/or patients.
