Job Title: MRI Technologist Profession: MRI Technologist Specialty: - Duration: 14 Shift: Other Hours per Shift: 7.5 Experience: Minimum of 1 year of MRI experience License: Valid license as a Radiologic Technologist Certifications: ARRT or ARMRIT certification Must-Have: - Associate's degree from a Radiologic Technology program - Experience with GE and Philips equipment - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred Description: This position performs MRI procedures ensuring patient safety, accurate imaging, and quality control. Responsibilities include patient screening, positioning, operating MRI equipment, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and documenting procedures in the EMR. Interviews patients prior to MRI procedures for safety. Ensures patient safety by correctly identifying patients using approved identifiers at every point of contact in the MRI suite. Explains the MRI process and instructs patients on the procedure to obtain optimal imaging diagnostic results. Answers all related questions and responds to patient needs or concerns as required. Safely sets up, operates, and adjusts MRI equipment, selecting proper technical factors to obtain accurate MRI studies. Selects software options and imaging parameters while adjusting an MRI machine. Returns equipment to its original location after each scan. Ensures safety for patients, operators, and visitors within the MRI environment. Prepares patients for procedures by safely positioning them for MRI scans and adjusting immobilization devices. Monitors patients during scanning. Ensures that MRI rooms are clean, organized, and safe for examinations. Cleans MRI scanners after each patient use. Maintains properly functioning imaging equipment and performs image quality tests as necessary. Reports any equipment malfunctions to appropriate staff. Maintains imaging supplies inventory by checking stock and anticipating needed supplies. Evaluates images for technical quality and accuracy, ensuring proper identification of all images. Presents completed images to Radiologist. Effectively uses electronic medical records to document patient encounters and access relevant patient data and imaging results. Keeps detailed and accurate patient records and results. Performs related work as assigned. Weekends and holidays are required. Training will include the EPIC class.
