Travel Cath Lab Tech - $3,803 per week in Santa Maria, CA

Job Title: Cath Lab Technologist Profession: Technologist Specialty: Cardiac Cath Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8 Hour Days Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Yes Certifications: ACLS, BLS, Fluoro Must-Have: Experience in Cath Lab and IR Description: Unit has 3 suites/labs. Technologists may hold RCIS or ARRT certifications based on staffing needs. The average number of cases performed per day is 8 to 12. Electronic medical record system used is Cerner. Overtime is compensated at the same rate as regular hours. Charge Nurse is present with a supervisor on call after hours. Weekend call requirement exists for all staff; typically every other weekend. Weekend call spans from 3:30 PM on Friday to 7 AM on Monday. Response time for all personnel on call is 30 minutes. Call team includes one nurse and two technologists. Holiday call may be required, with the option to work holidays if desired. Scrub colors are provided. Ventilators and telemetry equipment are available. Cardiologists are on call after hours from 7 PM to 7 AM. No IV team is available; radiology technicians are on site 24/7. Pharmacy services are available 24/7. Shifts are self-scheduled from 7 AM to 3:30 PM. Floating between the IR, cath lab, and EP lab may be required. Orientation typically lasts one week and is floor-specific. Common cases include venous placements, port-a-caths, fistulas, biliary tubes, neph tubes, IVC filters, left and right caths, STEMIs, ICDs, pacemakers, carotids, peripherals, ablations, and devices. EP lab experience is preferred for travelers, along with two years of experience. Cancellation policy includes the ability to cancel up to four shifts over a 13-week assignment and three for shorter assignments. The trauma level is 3, and the care setting is acute. This is an allied health position.
