Call team members have 30 minutes to be in the facility once they are notified. Procedure All Cath Lab staff members are required to take call on a rotational basis. The call schedule rotation is determined by the cath lab Coordinator, and is distributed to the staff on a monthly basis. A copy of the call schedule is posted in the cath lab control room and also given to the Trident Health System Operator. Once a cardiologist has determined that there is a need for the cath lab call team to be brought in for an emergent procedure, he/she notifies the Trident Health System Operator to page or call each call team member. The hospital Operator must have 2 means of contact for each call team member (eg. Individual pager , and alternative phone ) Staff are required to be available by the phone at all times. If the staff member is unable to be contacted by individual's phone, staff are required to inform the operator of changes. Each call team member has 5 minutes to respond to the operator, for responding to the Code Stemi. If no response within 5 minutes the operator will call the staff member. If no response call Cath Lab coordinator or director for further direction. The call team must be in the facility within 30 minutes of Code Stemi called. Upon arrival to the CCL call team members prepare the cath lab and call for the patient to be brought to the CCL expeditiously. Call team members are responsible for finding coverage for their call if they call out sick that day. If they can not find a person to cover call, they are to notify the Cath Lab coordinator or director. They must try to find coverage for their call by 12:00 that day. Documentation Cath Lab call schedules are distributed to the hospital operator and cath lab staff by the 15th of the preceding month and are done on a monthly basis.
