Job Title: Physical Therapist (PT) Profession: Therapy/Rehabilitation Specialty: Outpatient Neuro Rehabilitation Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum years of experience preferred, outpatient neuro experience preferred, first-time travelers considered with prior experience in an outpatient setting. License: State licensed Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: COVID-19 vaccine required, medical/religious exemptions only. Flu vaccine required, medical/religious exemptions only. Description: Schedule: Monday to Friday, no weekends or on-call duties. Candidate should have experience working with general neuro patients, including progressive and non-progressive neurologic diagnoses, concussion, and vestibular issues. Daily patient census averages around seven visits per day. Candidates need skills in adaptive devices, assessment, gait training, home exercise programs, and evaluating environmental barriers. Strong communication skills for patient and family education are vital. Effective time management and a focus on safety and injury prevention are necessary. Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and specific neurological conditions is preferred. Ability to perform patient evaluations, develop plans of care, and perform re-assessments is important. Candidates should be comfortable working with various neurological conditions such as multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, nerve palsy, Parkinson's disease, spinal cord injuries, and traumatic brain injuries. Experience with common therapy techniques such as AROM/AAROM/PROM and strength testing is also beneficial. Candidates must monitor vital signs and manage medications as part of the treatment process. Clarity of communication and a collaborative approach with interdisciplinary teams are essential for optimal patient care. This position demands adaptability and a willingness to engage with diverse patient populations in an outpatient setting.
