Yes Contract Length: 13 weeks Shifts: Days Shift Details: 10 hrs Weekly Schedule: 40 hrs Certifications/Licences: Required Education: Completion of a Surgical Technologist Education Program. OR 3 years of Surgical Technologist experience within the past five (5) years. BLS (American Heart Assoc.) is required. Preferred: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through NBSTSA OR Tech in Surgery-Certified (TS-C) through NCCT. Mandatory Experience: Required: 2 years CVOR experience 2 years of experience minimum. Contact with physicians, families, and other hospital personnel related to care of assigned patients. Sound judgment and knowledge of scientific principles must be used. Competency in selected skills is required through hospital provided instruction. Frequent exposure to stressful patient situations requires the ability to maintain composure in order to respond swiftly and effectively to patient needs. Demonstrates the knowledge, abilities, and skills to provide age and culturally specific patient care and education. Effectively communicates with peers, utilizes appropriate channels of communication and maintains absolute confidentiality. Maintains competence and demonstrates evidence of continuing professional growth. Demonstrates the ability to accept and implement change and the ability to work in a culturally diverse setting. Responsible for knowledge, use, care, and handling of surgical instruments. Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 4x10s 6:15AM-4:45PM; Call: 1 1st call until 2300 per week, possibly 1 2nd call until 1900 per week (depending on the 12 hour scheduling for that day), weekend call every 5-6 weekends, 2-3 transplant calls per 4 week schedule (12 hour blocks), week of overnight call after the weekend call.
