Primary Responsibilities:
- Articulate and communicate cybersecurity guidelines effectively to both engineering and business teams, fostering their adoption.
- Maintain continuous engagement with engineering teams to provide expert advice on architectural decisions and assist with cybersecurity control implementation.
- Contribute to the identification and mitigation of cybersecurity risks through proactive threat modeling of products and enterprise tools.
- Provide cybersecurity architecture consultation across major programs and solutions.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity peers to create a unified department while sharing insights on business-specific activities.
- Work closely with enterprise architecture, infrastructure, and engineering teams to assess existing architecture, identify vulnerabilities, and recommend improvements.
- Be an active participant in security events and incident response efforts to identify design gaps and propose preventive measures.
- Educate teams on cybersecurity best practices and standards to increase overall security awareness.
- Partner with legal and compliance teams to ensure architectural decisions align with regulatory and contractual requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and at least 6 years of relevant experience, or alternate combinations of education and experience.
- A minimum of 4 years focused specifically on cybersecurity.
- Experience with AWS infrastructure and services, including security and design aspects.
- Ability to clearly articulate cybersecurity policies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong customer service, writing, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate closely with various stakeholders and cybersecurity teams within a large corporation.
- Proficient in evaluating risks and recommending actions based on potential impacts to the business.
- Thorough knowledge of contemporary cybersecurity and technology architectures, including zero trust, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and DevSecOps.
- Ability to approach and solve complex cybersecurity challenges with innovative and practical solutions.
- Experience utilizing Agile methodologies in previous roles.
- Exposure to change initiatives and deployment solutions in a Fortune 1000 environment.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., ISO 27000, NIST) and relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, FFIEC).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in designing cybersecurity best practices across application and hosting stacks, both in cloud and on-premises.
- Knowledge of Identity and Access Management, encryption, secrets management, and various security protocols.
- Hands-on experience with application security implementations and methodologies.
- Recognized expertise in programming languages and technologies such as Python, .NET, and cloud patterns.
- Experience working with firewalls, WAFs, and familiarity with network architectures including DMZ.
- Experience utilizing the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
- Proven track record of establishing strategies for cloud enterprise solutions across major providers like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Strong understanding of cloud containers and serverless platforms (e.g., EKS, Lambda).
- Knowledge of regulations within national critical infrastructure sectors (telecommunications, finance, etc.).
- Experience in a Big Four consulting firm or a Fortune 500 company.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, AWS) are a plus.
Compensation: The base salary for this role ranges from $119,600.00 to $199,400.00, influenced by factors such as location and the candidate's qualifications. This position may also be eligible for additional compensation, including incentive programs.
