Summary
We are seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Architecture Leader to champion cybersecurity principles, standards, and design patterns. In this key role, you will collaborate with product and engineering teams to develop secure products and tools for both multi-cloud and on-premises environments. Your deep cybersecurity expertise will be vital in guiding teams to implement best practices and mitigate risks based on the specific needs of the business.
This position will report to the Director of Integrated Cybersecurity Architecture at Cox Automotive.
Primary Responsibilities
- Deliver clear communication of cybersecurity guidelines to engineering and business teams, assisting with their implementation.
- Work closely with engineering teams to provide insights on architecture choices and support cybersecurity control implementations.
- Identify and help mitigate cybersecurity risks through active threat modeling of products and tools.
- Offer expert cybersecurity architecture advice across major projects and solutions.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity peers to foster a cohesive cybersecurity department and share insights with business-specific teams.
- Partner with enterprise architecture and infrastructure teams to assess current architectures, identify vulnerabilities, and recommend security improvements.
- Engage in security events and incident responses to reveal design gaps and propose preventative measures.
- Educate architects and engineers on cybersecurity best practices and standards.
- Work with legal and compliance teams to ensure our cybersecurity architecture meets regulatory and contractual obligations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field and 6 years of relevant experience; or a master's degree with 4 years; or a Ph.D. with 1 year; or 10 years of applicable experience.
- At least 4 years focused in cybersecurity.
- Proven experience designing and securing AWS infrastructure and services.
- Ability to communicate cybersecurity policies to both technical and non-technical audiences effectively.
- Exceptional customer service, writing, and presentation skills.
- Capability to foster productive relationships with key stakeholders and collaborate with various cybersecurity teams.
- Consultative approach for navigating complex topics with employees and leadership.
- Strong risk evaluation skills to assess and recommend actions based on potential impact.
- In-depth knowledge of current cybersecurity architectures, including zero trust, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, virtualization, containerization, and DevSecOps.
- Creativity in resolving complex cybersecurity challenges while maintaining solid business acumen.
- Experience with Agile methodologies.
- Capability to drive change and implement solutions in Fortune 1000 environments.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and regulations affecting architectural decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in developing and designing cybersecurity standards for all layers of hosting and application stacks in both cloud and on-premises settings.
- Knowledge in Identity and Access Management (IAM), cryptography, secrets management, and security protocols.
- Background in application security implementations and best practices.
- Strong technical knowledge in areas including Python, .NET, Java, Oracle, serverless cloud models, and user authentication.
- Experience with firewalls and deep understanding of network architectures.
- Familiarity with the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
- Proven track record in establishing cloud enterprise solutions in AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Comprehensive understanding of cloud containers or serverless platforms.
- Experience in critical infrastructure sectors such as telecommunications or financial services.
- Background in big four consulting or Fortune 500 companies.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, OSCP, CISM, CISA).
Compensation:
The base salary for this role ranges from $119,600.00 to $199,400.00, dependent on location and candidate qualifications. Additional compensation may include an incentive program.
