The facility has 874 licensed beds and also includes pediatric trauma services. It is a teaching hospital with a chest pain center and stroke center. The department averages 350-400 patients per day. Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of experience. First-time travelers are accepted. The patient population includes adults and pediatrics from the emergency department, ICUs, nursing units, and outpatients. Common diagnoses span the full spectrum of radiology exams. The required licenses include BLS and ARRT-R. Ideal candidates will be confident in their clinical skills and able to work in a fast-paced, high patient acuity environment. Good communication skills and a helpful, team-oriented attitude are strongly preferred. Support within the department includes a lead tech, modality supervisor, and imaging manager. The team is diverse, with varying years of experience from new graduates to long-tenured teammates. Technology used includes EMR EPIC and specific department equipment. The department features Shimadzu RadSpeed general radiographic rooms, Konica and Shimadzu portables, and GE and Siemens R/F rooms. Scheduling does not rotate between weekends and weekdays. Travelers will remain on the assigned shifts outlined in the contract. Call requirements vary and are staffed fairly among full-time, part-time, PRN, and traveler teammates. Holiday coverage is expected unless previously approved off. Time off requests require manager approval. The department is staffed 24/7/365, so travelers will fill whatever shift is currently vacant. Scrub color for technologists is black. The department culture emphasizes good teamwork and high clinical skill sets in a fast-paced environment.
