Job Title: Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Profession: RCIS Specialty: - Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8-hour day shift Hours per Shift: 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM Experience: 1 years of Cardiac Catheterization Lab experience preferred License: State of employment license required Certifications: - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) - OR Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) - OR RRT with post-primary certification of Cardiac Interventional Radiography through ARRT Must-Have: - BLS (AHA) required - ACLS (AHA) required Description: Effectively assist physicians in performing a variety of highly specialized cardiovascular procedures including diagnostic and interventional catheterization. Assist in pacemaker and defibrillator implantation. Operate intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP). Conduct electrophysiology studies. Evaluate and document patient status and respond appropriately. Intervene or refer in a timely manner to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Demonstrate clinical expertise, competence, and proficiency. Commit to continued learning and sharing knowledge with patients and co-workers. Exhibit "team player" characteristics. Be punctual and willing to assist others. Participate in subcommittees and initiate in-services. Engage in performance improvement activities to evaluate care outcomes. Accept accountability for the use of evidence to improve care based on regulatory and practice standards. Effectively use equipment, time, personnel, and supplies to provide high-quality, cost-effective patient care. Adapt to changing workload, patient needs, technologies, policies, regulations, and staffing through priority setting and flexibility. Maintain a high skill level through participation in ongoing education and attendance at staff meetings. Provide on-call coverage outside of standard scheduled hours as required. Recognize and act upon unusual results or patient responses by informing the primary health care team. Adjust approach based on patient and family understanding of test procedures. Troubleshoot and correct recording instrument malfunctions or unusual patient problems. Independently prioritize clinical and administrative work and identify process improvements. Process patient and department records ensuring documentation of performed tests in accordance with hospital standards. Floating may be required to any location within sixty miles of the original assignment. Float assignments may include duties outside of original job requirements as per policy.
