Job Title: Special Procedures Neuro Vascular Technologist Profession: Technologist Specialty: Interventional Radiology Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8.5 Experience: Two (2) years clinical experience in Radiologic Technology License: Valid Client (NYS) Radiological License Certifications: (ARRT) Certification, Client (NYS) Injection License, Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Must-Have: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Description: The Special Procedures Neuro Vascular Technologist performs imaging procedures. Assists in the performance of Interventional Radiology, Neuro Endovascular procedures, and Vascular Surgery (Hybrid). Assists the physician in the performance of procedures including positioning and prepping patients. Prepares sterile trays and maintains the integrity of a sterile field. Circulates and scrubs to assist with handling of instruments. Draws up contrast for injections and operates equipment for administering contrast media. Passes catheters/guidewires and calls out equipment readings. Alerts the team of changes in the patient’s condition within the scope of practice. Responsible for accurate and timely exam verification within the hospital’s RIS system. Archives completed studies to the PACS system and manages supply charging and inventory systems. Assists in daily quality control and inventory management. Follows proper protocols and procedures for the position and department. Preferred: Two (2) years of clinical experience in Interventional Radiology/Cardiology. On-call availability is required.
