Job Title: Ultrasound Tech/Sonographer Profession: Ultrasound Tech/Sonographer Specialty: - Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: 2 years of experience required. All general and vascular except for ABIs and segmental pressure. No echo or breast. License: ARDMS registry required Certifications: BLS - American Heart Association required Must-Have: - Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically within a multi-functional team. - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. - Ability to successfully function in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment. - Experience in understanding and usage of computers, including the Microsoft Office Suite, as well as the ability to learn applications relevant to the position. Description: In this position, the Sonographer performs Ultrasound procedures to obtain desired imaging results according to physicians' specifications. This includes transferring patients for examinations and assisting with the Ultrasound examination process. Responsible for the appropriate operation of all Ultrasound Imaging and related equipment. Appropriately educates, positions, and immobilizes patients while performing Ultrasound procedures. Coordinates Ultrasound examinations to ensure timeliness, quality, and continuity of patient care. Understands and follows provider Imaging orders correctly. Submits required images and related clinical information to the Radiologist for interpretation. Appropriately evaluates image quality. Maintains open, accurate, and responsive communication with patients, coworkers, Radiologists, and leadership. Utilizes, charges, and maintains department supplies appropriately. Practices sterile techniques and follows infection prevention policies. Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects while meeting deadlines. Safely performs Ultrasound procedures, including patient transfer.
