This is an on-site position located in Charleston, SC.
Overview
The Warehouse Technician is responsible for monitoring inventory and enforcing all material handling standard operating procedures, assisting with physical inventory counts, receiving and tracking Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) inventory of data modems (ONTs), Wi‑Fi gateways and mesh units, as well as miscellaneous installation materials. This position will also be responsible for picking, assigning and staging new equipment for field techs to pick up and for cleaning, testing and redeployment of returned customer equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Inspect, verify and receive material into the warehouse.
- Document material transactions into the WMS system, including receiving Purchase Orders.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with multiple departments and leadership.
- Store, pick, package and issue material.
- Create, edit, and monitor orders requested using the WMS system and fulfill within 24 hours.
- Restock and rotate material using FIFO (first in first out) processes.
- Update team on material shortages.
- Receive CPE returns and move through the various refurbishing statuses including cannibalization when appropriate.
- Occasionally provide pickup, delivery, and loading/unloading of CPE, materials, and equipment by safely operating fleet vehicles.
- Conduct full physical counts and recurring cycle counts.
- Manually load and unload deliveries and daily pick-ups.
- Schedule pickups with freight carriers.
- Inform contacts of order status.
- Document error reports before signing and returning carrier copies.
- Warehouse organization and cleaning.
- Continued education and training of the WMS system.
- Ensure that regulatory compliance requirements are met.
- Address and resolve any shipment or delivery errors.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of two years of related work experience preferred (e.g. warehouse operations and inventory management, customer service).
- Excellent oral and written communications skills internally and customer-facing.
- Capability to safely and skillfully operate a pallet jack, forklift, hand trucks and other warehouse equipment.
- Experience using an inventory management software; NetSuite preferred.
- Strong time management, attention to detail, organizational, problem-solving and prioritization capabilities.
- Ability to relay information in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Experience with NetSuite and RF Smart software preferred.
- Ability to work independently with flexibility to perform varied tasks.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Ability to use a variety of tools, such as screwdrivers and pliers.
- Ability to use cleaning products, including denatured alcohol, sandpaper, and paint.
