Warehouse Manager at Richards Building Supply Co. – Maryland Heights, MO

The warehouse manager will be responsible for the organization, schedules and direction of the warehouse staff on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for the daily scheduling of warehouse personnel to ensure proper staffing in order to receive products at the facility in a productive and cost-efficient manner. Adjusts schedules as necessary for both the warehouse and drivers.
• Monitor the warehouse inventory, ensure order accuracy fulfillment, and drive productivity levels and upkeep of facility maintenance.
• Direct the day-to-day activities of the warehouse, including shipping, receiving, stocking, organizing material, maintenance, and inventory control.
• Coordinate warehouse activities under the direction of the Branch Manager, and train warehouse personnel to ensure a well-coordinated shipping and receiving plan.
• Schedule maintenance of warehouse equipment, provide preventive maintenance programs and ensure completion of necessary repairs; ensure personnel have safe, efficient equipment to perform distribution functions.
• Plan, organize and direct the loading and unloading of deliveries.
• Route drivers for accurate and timely deliveries to customers.
• Oversee warehouse safety programs to provide a safe, clean workplace compliant with OSHA local and state regulations.
• Recommend equipment requirements and replacements to the Branch Manager to upgrade and maintain productivity and efficiency.
• Supervise, manage, and direct selection, training, development, appraisal and work assignments of personnel.
• Assist with weekly cycle counts and annual physical inventories.

Qualifications / Skills

• One to two-year technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficient computer skills
• Ability to prioritize, organize, and delegate assignments
• Moderate physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities of a primarily production/technical nature
• Valid Driver’s License
• Forklift certification or related equipment experience
