You will report directly to our Engineering Manager and work out of our Minnesota location on a Hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage a team of hardware engineers to develop and deliver high-quality products.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team performance and efficiency.
  • Lead hardware design and development activities for RLG electronics, including schematic capture, PCB layout, and component obsolescence redesign.
  • Perform failure analysis, root cause/corrective action (RCCA), and qualification testing on gyroscope hardware to ensure mission-critical reliability.
  • Automate and optimize hardware test processes to improve production efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Author and present qualification reports and technical documentation to internal teams and external customers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering groups to support RLG program milestones and continuous improvement initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of experience in hardware design and development (including academic and professional experience).
  • 3+ years of experience with ring laser gyro design and development.
  • Hands-on experience with gyroscope electronics or inertial navigation hardware.
  • Proficiency with schematic capture, PCB layout, and circuit simulation tools (PSpice, LTSpice).
  • Strong background in hardware testing, validation, and failure analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to present technical findings to diverse audiences.
  • Excellent leadership and analytical skills.
  • Experience with hardware testing and validation.

PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in hardware design and development.
  • Ability to drive results and meet project deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of industry standards and best practices.
  • Experience with high-speed digital and analog circuit design.
  • Familiarity with ring laser gyroscopes, inertial navigation systems, or avionics electronics.
  • Experience leading failure investigations and reporting results to program stakeholders.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent continuous improvement training.
  • Ability to take ownership of projects and drive results under tight deadlines.
