HR Generalist — REMOTE

Veterans Management Services, Inc. (VMSI) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and we are looking for a highly motivated HR Generalist to join our team supporting our Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) client. The mission of the VA is to “To fulfill President Lincoln's promise to care for those who have served in our nation's military and for their families, caregivers, and survivors.”

The HR Generalist will assist the Senior Program Manager in supporting the development of position descriptions and qualification documents for human resources activities. This includes generating documents for hiring officials and making amendments to position descriptions and responsibility documents, using Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and Department of Veterans Affairs policies. Services may include providing position descriptions, performance level matrices, and performance metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Senior Program Manager in identifying top priorities for P&LO that deliver the greatest progress toward the desired state of “normal” operations.
  • Coordinating with stakeholders to improve information flow and ensure tasks and deliverables are completed on time.
  • Deploying as needed to directly support priority initiatives and ensure their success.
  • Assist the Senior Program Manager in identifying the highest-risk priority initiatives that need change management support.
  • Assist the Senior Program Manager in supporting the PS&I office with strategic communications to internal and external stakeholders by collecting, compiling, and analyzing data or information that may span multiple directorates in response to requests for information and audits. This may include, but is not limited to, budgetary, operational, planning, and readiness data.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of recent and relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • FAC-C II, DAWIA, or FAC-C Professional Certification
