HR Administrative Support (Contract) – LHH

This is a contract position with LHH for a duration of 2–4 months, offering a pay range of $20–$25/hr. The role requires a minimum of two years of experience and provides administrative support to the Human Resources team. This position also supports the employee population of the Hibbing and Grand Rapids facilities.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide direct, daily administrative support to all areas of the Human Resources team.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding basic Human Resources questions, and escalate employee concerns appropriately.
  • Assist in the hiring process by coordinating employee interviews; conducting phone screenings, and posting job announcements to internal and external sources.
  • Prepare new hire paperwork, and assist in the onboarding process.
  • Conduct periodic audits of personnel files, training files, and I-9s.
  • Coordinate training facilitators regarding contract employee orientations and facilitate Human Resources portion of the orientation.
  • Using HRIS, process employee changes in status, communicate to affected departments, and load relevant forms into Employee HRIS.
  • Create and accurately maintain and manage employee personnel files in compliance with legal requirements.
  • Archive training and personnel records of separated employees in accordance with LHH policy.
  • Assist in organizational training and development efforts.
  • Assist employees with benefit enrollment and support open enrollment activities.
  • Ensure compliance with work instructions and/or Quality Management System (QMS) procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to all current company policies.
  • Ensure effective employee relations.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline HR processes and assist in system and process changes.
  • Maintain highest levels of ethics and confidentiality.
  • Employ effective, respectful, and persuasive spoken and written communication skills.
  • Work independently, efficiently manage time, and use experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Maintain a safe work environment for yourself and others, including wearing mandatory Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as eye and ear protection.
  • Function effectively in a fast-paced, diverse, team environment.
  • Assist with department cleanliness and housekeeping.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • AA degree preferred.
  • Previous administrative support experience required.
  • Intermediate ability to operate basic computer equipment, peripherals, and software as well as company standard software. Speed, accuracy, and multi-tasking between software programs/systems are essential.
  • Ability to recognize, read, write, understand, and accomplish new assignments with only general instruction.
  • Ability to effectively perform all basic mathematical functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages).
  • Satisfactory completion of criminal background check.
  • Satisfactory completion of a motor vehicle record check.
  • Verified eligibility for employment in the United States.
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license.

Environment and Physical Demands:

A traditional work week (M-F) with LHH core hours. Work during non-traditional hours periodically required.

Works in a typical office setting which includes: continuously sit, use of computer monitor, mouse, and keyboard, standard telephone, hearing and talking.

Occasionally lift, reach, rotate hands, stoop, kneel, or crouch.

Occasionally works in a typical factory environment (high noise levels, machinery, conveyors, dust, chemicals, odors, and temperature fluctuations.)
