Job Description

Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly.
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
- Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures per company policy.
- Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages, working honestly to control loss.
- Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
- Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
- Stay current with advertisements and promotions.
- Comply with food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
- Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.
- Create a welcoming environment by answering questions about products.
- Follow all applicable laws and company policies.
- Work effectively in a high-paced, stressful environment.
- Manage conflicts professionally and cooperatively.
- Maintain honesty and integrity with customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek help when necessary.
- Support and assist customers, including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
- Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Qualifications
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Customer service experience
- Effective communication skills
- Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction)
Desired Previous Job Experience:
- Customer service experience
- Experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk
