Waggoner Engineering, Inc. is hiring an Area Manager for our Atlanta, GA office to provide leadership, management, and strategic direction to ensure business growth and effectiveness within the assigned geographic market. The role involves project oversight, policy formulation, and regulatory compliance, under the guidance of the Vice President. The position emphasizes a team-oriented, respectful, and energetic leadership style.
Waggoner Engineering has a history of nearly 50 years of delivering results through integrity, service, and creativity. The company has experienced significant growth and aims to expand further by adding talented personnel. The firm specializes in water and disaster recovery engineering services across 19 offices in 6 states, seeking inspired leaders who can engage and deliver value to clients and internal teams.
Your Primary Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities:
- Manage projects effectively within the geographic area.
- Maintain business acumen and client relations, representing the company's brand with integrity.
- Drive business development opportunities.
- Identify, train, and develop future leaders.
- Support operations and provide performance updates to leadership.
- Create strategic plans to track company KPIs.
- Collaborate on operational strategies and processes.
- Oversee project budgets and costs.
- Assist with financial reporting and performance monitoring.
- Guide Project Managers and monitor cash flow.
Essential Functions:
- Provide daily leadership aligned with company values.
- Achieve sales, profitability, and growth targets.
- Develop and implement growth strategies.
- Lead and mentor teams, fostering collaboration.
- Participate in business planning and leadership meetings.
- Manage high-profile client relationships and projects.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
- At least ten years of management experience in consulting engineering.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree in business or related field.
- Five or more years in senior management.
- Professional engineer, geologist, or related certification.
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience in professional services business development.
- Financial planning and project oversight skills.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
