Overview
The Production Supervisor positions are key contributors to effectively manage the employees across all production shop floors by organizing the workflow to meet specifications and deadlines, resolving any production issues, and scheduling employees to ensure optimum staffing levels. These positions work closely with the Production Manager, VP of Operations, Human Resources Manager and other key individuals within the Company to resolve any production line issues and to continually improve assembly processes/TI SOPs that will increase efficiency in a safe manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Effectively manage the employees across all production shop floors by organizing the workflow to meet specifications and deadlines, resolving any production issues, and scheduling employees to ensure optimum staffing levels.
- Conduct Lean Meetings to communicate necessary company processes or policies to the department’s teams.
- Manage Kaizen training and promote continuous improvement.
- Develop the skills of Line Leads to ensure competency in their role.
- Gather information directly associated with production and compile reports concerning scheduling, production goals, equipment and maintenance problems and other reports as requested.
- Perpetually assess current strategies, systems, procedures, performance, capabilities, equipment, facilities, and employees for opportunities to optimize safety, flow, service, quality, and profitability.
- Support and advance initiatives that promote and sustain the safety, health, security, and welfare of all employees.
- Maintain safe, clean, orderly (5s), and environmentally compliant production operations.
- Initiate new products into production and implement approved changes.
- Ensure output meets quality standards set by the TI SOPs.
- Willingness to undertake and perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
Production Supervisor Responsibilities
- 90% of the position should be spent working on the shop floor with the personnel at addressing tasks below.
- Guide and coach employees, monitoring their productivity.
- Oversee safe use of equipment and schedule regular maintenance.
- Perform verification of hourly production output (Hour by Hour Boards) according to specifications.
- Monitor personnel and resources, study methods, facilitate corrections to malfunctions within process control points, and initiate and foster a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
- Accomplish manufacturing results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; and initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
- Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing production standards.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- 10% of the position should be spent organizing and planning, preparing order/order queue, answering emails, and other administrative duties listed below.
- Establish daily, weekly and monthly objectives and communicate them to employees.
- Manage the workflow by assigning responsibilities and preparing schedules.
- Organize, monitor, and prioritize tasks to meet production goals.
- Maintain communication between employees and Directors to ensure procedures and policies are well-understood.
- Answer emails to further communication on applicable inquiries regarding production. (Differ all actions or request to instruct production for other department heads to your direct Manager)
- Prepare reports on performance (KPI) and progress for senior managers.
- Monitor and prioritize workflow of production to meet deadlines.
- Initiate and maintain Kaizen training of production staff and delegate training as well.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), relevant supervisory experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this job:
- The employee frequently is required to stand or sit in tall chair for 10-hour shifts with a minimum of a 15-minute break every 2-hours.
- This position occasionally uses hands to finger, handle, or feel to assemble small parts into larger parts.
- This position is regularly required to talk or hear for assembly line communication and safety.
- The employee in this position is frequently required to walk; reach with hands and arms, occasionally stoop, kneel or crouch.
- The vision required for the essential functions of this position requires the ability to focus, and identify and distinguish colors for the close attention to detail required for this position. This position requires eye sight that can see details in stitching and cutting, for observing quality control and following SOPs.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
Work Environment
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud due to the tools and machines, consistent with a production environment.
Occasionally this position may work with equipment that has a risk of electric shock or vibration.
Safety
All employees are required to report any safety concerns and encourage the safety of others. All employees who enter the Production Area must wear certified safety glasses or over the glasses safety glasses if you wear glasses and they are not safety rated. Safety training and following safety policies and procedures at each work station is required.
