Summary
Assembles generator enclosures, tanks, and their subassemblies following blueprints and other written and verbal specifications by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Reads and understands blueprints and bill of material.
  • Assembles functional parts of enclosures and tanks using hand tools, power tools (cordless drills, impact gun, etc.), levels, plumb bobs, and straight edges.
  • Uses forklifts, aerial lifts, cranes, ladders, and other lifting apparatus to aid in the assembly process.
  • Assists in the assembly and installation of electrical and electronic components (electrical enclosures, transformers, etc.). All electrical connections are performed by qualified personnel.
  • Assembles both small and large sub-assemblies according to prints or drawings.
  • References bill of material to package parts/kits to customer requirements.
  • Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine assembly sequence and setup requirements.
  • Follows work instructions from general descriptions. Works with team members to troubleshoot mechanical/fit issues satisfactorily.
  • Keeps work area clean and organized.

While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently needs to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Occasionally, climbing or balancing may be required, along with talking or hearing. The employee must frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 80 pounds. Vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to focus.
