Responsibilities
- As a Facilities Technician, oversee and maintain the physical infrastructure of building, facilities, and grounds.
- Inspect and repair electrical systems, plumbing, and general building maintenance.
- Collaborate with other team members and external vendors to contribute to the efficient upkeep and operation of the plant to meet organizational needs.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct routine maintenance of building systems, plumbing, electrical, and general infrastructure (e.g., painting, general carpentry, floor repairs, installing general office equipment, lighting).
- Develop preventative maintenance schedules.
- Perform regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety and building codes, identifying potential hazards.
- Diagnose issues with building systems and equipment, providing timely solutions to minimize downtime.
- Respond to plant-related emergencies, such as power outages, floods, and weather threats.
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance and repair services.
- Collaborate with other departments to understand plant needs and address concerns promptly.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for all associates.
- Work all required work schedules.
Minimum Education
High School Diploma or GED.
Experience Requirements
- 3-5 years experience in related field.
- Maintains Perdue Farms QEW Certification.
- Commitment to continuous learning to achieve increasing levels of expertise.
Experience Preferred
- 2-year Technical Degree in Engineering or Industrial Maintenance.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
- Sitting, standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, reaching overhead and/or at shoulder level, lifting (up to 50 lbs) and/or repetitive tasks throughout the day.
- Position requires occasional movement to other offices or buildings. Day travel to nearby locations sometimes required.
- Exposure in plant environment to wet and moist floors with metal and plastic grating. Temperature ranges from 28 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with ambient and 100% humidity. Product handling ranges from 25 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. Noise ranges from 50 dB to 110 dB. Exposure to chemicals used in poultry processing.
- Must wear and use protective and safety equipment as directed by the Company.
