Maintenance Trainee-3rd Shift Job at Wayne-Sanderson Farms in Dobson

Overview

Provide general and preventive maintenance in food manufacturing equipment. Must have basic knowledge of tools and equipment and how to use them. Must always use and maintain personal protective equipment, and work in compliance with all company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines, and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform general and preventive maintenance on equipment used in the food manufacturing industry.
• Use and maintain tools and equipment properly and safely.
• Adhere to company policies and applicable regulations, including NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and relevant laws.

Minimum qualifications

• General and preventive maintenance experience in the food manufacturing industry.
• 2+ years of previous experience in industrial maintenance.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend English fluently.
• Willingness to work on any day, including Saturdays or Sundays if needed.
• Basic knowledge of machinery including 1st processing poultry machinery, deboning, and marination equipment.
• Associate’s Degree or Technical Certificate (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of relevant maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 3+ years of experience with ammonia systems.
• Ability to read technical drawings.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements, especially those governing the food industry.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of interpersonal skills.
• Proficient computer skills with a focus on PM systems and Microsoft applications; intermediate computer skills.
• Willingness to take breaks at flexible times.
• Physical ability to lift up to 100 lbs occasionally; frequently walk, stoop, kneel, and crawl; climb occasionally.
• Work environment can include extremely wet/cold and wet/hot conditions.

Preferred qualifications

• General and preventive maintenance experience in poultry industry.
• 2+ years of previous experience in industrial maintenance.
• DSI experience.
• Ammonia/Refrigeration skills and experience.
