Job Summary
Under the direction of the Quality Lab Supervisor, with guidance from the Quality Lab Tech Lead, the Quality Assurance Lab Technician is responsible for testing, inspection, dimensional analysis, and supporting other departments within HellermannTyton. This position requires the ability to perform product/process inspections in both product and lab environments, manage files and software, and support maintaining certifications such as TS16949, ISO14001, and EMS by adhering to corporate policies and documentation.

Essential Functions:

• Understand customer expectations related to product quality.
• Support a team-oriented environment.
• Mentor operators regarding product quality.
• Perform 1st Piece Inspection and in-process inspection of manufactured products.
• Conduct product-specific tests, including tensile and moisture analysis.
• Verify material certifications and approve raw materials.
• Enter and edit SPC data; record inspection and test data.
• File QA records and samples.
• Verify colorant in incoming materials using color samples.
• Handle non-conforming materials and documentation.
• Perform dimensional layouts referencing drawings.
• Utilize SPC software and control plans.
• Assist with PPAP and PPC testing.
• Support maintaining quality and environmental certifications by following policies and procedures.

Other Functions:

• Become a key resource for production regarding product quality.
• Determine 'Clean Point' for non-conformance issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Read blueprints and use basic measuring tools.
• Apply basic math skills and effective communication.
• Basic computer skills are a plus; knowledge of injection molding is a plus.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferably 1 year of lab experience.
• Good math, communication, and vision skills.
• Knowledge of micrometers and calipers preferred.
• Blueprint reading skills preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work overtime including weekends.
• Must wear PPE as required in manufacturing areas.
