Forklift Operator (1st Shift) Job at Samuel, Son & Co. in Fontana

Responsibilities

• Load/Offload manufactured material, supplies and other items, and move to designated areas by use of forklift, pallet jack or other manual means.
• Move, stack, and organize materials within the warehouse or shipping area using forklift, following established procedures.
• Transport manufactured material and operating supplies from warehouse to warehouse either by forklift or Class C Vehicle.
• Segregate merchandise by customer and/or by warehouse inventory system.
• Effectively communicate with warehouse personnel and other team members to coordinate shipping activities and ensure a smooth workflow.
• Organize warehouse space efficiently and prioritize tasks to meet shipping schedules and deadlines.
• Verify the quality of materials being transported, identifying and reporting any damaged or defective items.
• Meet all OSHA-related requirements under CCR T-8, 3668.
• Report safety concerns to Supervisor.
• Comply with all Sierra Aluminum Company safety rules and forklift guidelines.
• Complete daily pre-operations inspection checklist for forklift and other powered equipment.
• Forklift Operator must be capable of exercising good judgment and professional conduct.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• One year manufacturing (preferred) and forklift operation experience.
• Education: High School Diploma (preferred).
• Available to work all possible shifts including weekends. Position requires overtime.
• California Driver’s License.
• Certification in Forklift Operations.
• Teamwork is essential; must be willing to work closely and effectively communicate with co-workers.
• Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Must have the initiative to identify, communicate, and correct problems, as well as adapt to change.
• Must be able to work overtime or “off shift” work hours, as required.
• Must be willing to perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• MS Outlook; Working knowledge of MS Office.

Compensation

The base hourly pay range for this position is $21.60 - $22.80. If you are hired, your base pay rate will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in pay equity and consider internal equity of current team members as part of any final offer. The range above is the full base pay range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future wage growth.
