Job Summary And Responsibilities
As our CNA at CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson, now part of CommonSpirit Health formed between Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) and Dignity Health, you’ll help our patients feel safer and more comfortable by assisting with their basic daily life activities.
Your success in this role comes from your genuine desire to help patients feel better, whether that means giving them fresh bed linens or checking their vitals. You’re diligent about your tasks, observant of patients’ conditions improving or declining, and accept coaching well.
Responsibilities include:
- Check-in with the outgoing patient care techs at the beginning of your shift to get a report on your patients.
- Conduct hourly rounds on patients, checking vitals, maintaining whiteboard information, and assisting with care as needed.
- Assist patients with ambulating as necessary.
- Assist patients with hygiene needs.
- Help the nurse with tube insertions such as an NG tube, rectal tube, or catheter.
- Change bed linens, check patients’ weight, other tasks as assigned each day.

Job Requirements
Education and Experience
- High school education or G.E.D., preferred.
- Completion of a certified nursing assistant training program, required.
- One (1) year of experience in the discipline, preferred
Required Licensure And Certifications
- Certified Nurse Assistant; North Dakota, required.
- American Hearth Association Basic Life Support (BLS)-CPR, within 30 days of start, required.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And Training
- Candidate must be proficient with computers and computer applications in the healthcare setting.
- Candidates must be able to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English.
Pay Range: $16.50 - $23.30 /hour
