Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children is Hawai'i’s only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. It is well recognized as Hawai'i’s leader in the care of women, infants and children. With 253 beds, the not-for-profit hospital delivers 6,000 babies a year, and is also a medical teaching and research facility.
The Security team provides security, information, directions and escort service to patients and staff as needed, while adhering to policies and regulations regarding safety. As Security Officers patrol Hawai‘i Pacific Health facilities, they are often the first to meet and greet our clients, which positions the community’s experience at our facility in a positive way.
If you would like to help create a safe and comfortable environment for our patients, staff and guests at Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women & Children, you could be the ideal person for this position. Responsibilities include providing protection and security for facility personnel, patients, visitors, and property through security and safety patrols, crisis intervention, investigation into minor crimes and accidents, and serving as a visual deterrent to potential problem situations.

Work Schedule: Rotating - 8 Hours
Work Type: Full Time Regular
Minimum Qualifications: High School or equivalent. Current Hawai'i Security Guard Registration (GDE) License. Current American Heart Association Heartsaver-AED CPR or current BLS/HCP card.
Preferred Qualifications: Hospital security experience. International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety (IAHSS) Basic Healthcare Security Officer Training Certificate to be obtained within one year of hire. Crisis Prevention and Intervention Certification to be obtained within one (1) year of hire. Six (6) months security experience in a related field.
