About This Position

The Security Dispatcher in the Safety and Security Department answers calls for service, deploys security resources in an effective and efficient manner, utilizes Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) to record and monitor security resources, and monitors all safety and security systems.

Requirements

Education

  • High school graduate or equivalent (GED).
  • Post-secondary education preferred.
Experience

  • 1 year experience as a Dispatcher in an EMS, Air Medical, Police, Fire, or Security Communications Center
OR

  • 2+ years of experience working in a medical setting with emphasis on incoming multi-line phones and triaging of calls
OR

  • 2+ years of experience working customer service with emphasis on multi-line phones and triaging of calls
  • Requires the ability to multi-task, problem solve, make effective decisions under pressure, work independently and in a team atmosphere.
  • Requires the ability to work effectively with other hospital staff, public service agencies, peers, co-workers and the general public.
  • Requires the ability to type 25 wpm.
  • Basic computer skills with ability to enter data on security activity in a timely and efficient manner.
