Position purpose
Provide direct and general supervision to security staff in order to ensure effective and efficient security operations on assigned shift.
Essential functions
- Oversee staffing, scheduling, evaluating, training, developing, monitoring and lead team members to maintain a positive employee relations culture. Recommend wage increases, promotions, demotions, discipline and other employment actions for team members.
- Maintain continuous awareness of all property activity through supervision and direct observation. Respond appropriately to incidents and service needs.
- Ensure proper arrest procedures and detainment techniques are carried out in accordance with civil or company laws or procedures; assist local, state, and federal authorities in activities and investigations to ensure procedures and laws are observed.
- Maintain current information on cheats, thieves, vagrants, etc.; develop and maintain communications with law enforcement agencies and security personnel of other casinos to relay security information.
- Resolve guest complaints and ensure that all areas of guest service are adhered to.
- Provide support to departmental management in troublesome terminations, thefts, investigations, and procedures as requested.
- Oversee occupational injury reports as needed, ensuring that procedures and liability considerations are maintained.
- Schedule training classes on topics such as CPR, Fire Fighting & Response, First Aid, and general security procedures to protect assets, patrons/guests and employees.
- Ensure Internal and External policy and procedures for Slot, Table Games and Cage Departments are correctly implemented and maintained (e.g., fills, credits, transfers, pit boxes, drops, Jackpots).
- Promote a safe and secure working environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Job qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid gaming license
- Must be able to maintain a valid Driver’s Licence
- Demonstrated supervisor experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of civil and criminal laws
- Ability to be physically mobile, and stand/walk for 8 to 12-hour shifts
- Excellent guest service and communication skills
- Must be able to work in areas with dust, secondhand smoke, varying noise and temperature levels, lighting, vibrations, crowds and air quality
- Must present a professional appearance and demeanor at all times
- Regular and punctual attendance is required
- Typically requires high school education or equivalent and two years progressive security operations experience or equivalent
